Research Topic
I’m currently not completely sure as to
what topic I want to cover for the research paper. However, I am thankful that
we have been discussing topics in class because it is getting me thinking. I’m
thinking about crafting a research paper based upon the Melodrama in reality
television. There are a wide variety of melodramatic criteria contained within
reality TV that might be interesting to analyze. I can take a look at two or
three specific reality TV shows; Keeping
Up With the Kardashians, and The Real
Housewives of Beverly Hills. I will most likely discuss how these two shows
structure their episode content in a melodramatic way. I will also analyze the
melodramatic previews that advertise for the episodes. I will also take a look
at the music and sets the shows use, intertwining plot lines, viewer
omniscience, etc.
